September 18 - Unexpected (#PhotoBlog365)

Of course a find is always kind of unexpected, but this one was rather special: it is, as far as I can see, what remains of a goedendag (a Flemish weapon dating from the 14th century) and I found it washed up on the beach around Mont Saint Michel (Brittany, France) ...

It might just be a modern day souvenir bought in one of the shops in that city and subsequently lost here of course, but honestly, it's way more romantic not to try to find out about the real age of this weapon.
