Croatian Diary - August 6: Marija Bistrica - Belec - part 2

Regarding the interior of the first church, we can indeed see the opulence from behind a barred door. But perhaps we have missed an opportunity in that regard: when we arrive by car, we see a gate open in the surrounding wall, through which we think we can get to the church.

At that moment, however, a worker comes out, who is preparing to close that gate. However, his buddy prevents that and asks “Deutsch? Kirche sehen? Vier Euro gesammt! ” We say “thanks, but no, thanks” and after a surprised “Nein?” he drives off with his comrade to an adjacent farm.

We eventually find a wide-open gate on the other side of the church, a gate that may always be open, but we cannot enter the church because there’s bars at the door. Our guess: that guy couldn't have let us in there, but we can't ask him anymore, because after his proposal he disappeared inside that farm …

If you visit it, Guillermo, try the same side of the country. Once the corona-shit is behind us the other side (the coastal area) will be overcrowded again smile
