Winkel (Deutschland/Germany) - December 2019 - part 1

by Björn Roose September. 26, 2020 370 views

We have actually been in Winkel before. In Oestrich-Winkel that is. Mittelheim, which we visited here and here, and Oestrich, which we visited here and here, are the other parts of the town (there's actually one more part, but we didn't visit that one).

In this post two photos (#1 and #3) of the Graues Haus and surrounding. The Graues Haus (Grey House) is supposed to be Germany's oldest stone house. It was assumedly erected in the late 10th century. Whether the baron is #1 needs to be erected every now and then, I don't know, but he is crossing and drinking.

The other three photos are of the Schloss Vollrads, about which I'll tell you in the next post.

I saw these posts about Winkel in reverse order, but really enjoyed all 3 posts - lovely photos.

Thanks, Jeff. The order is only important as far as the text goes smile
