Well, once you've reached the top (and that's what we did here) there's only one way left: down. However, that doesn't mean you've seen the best of the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe. On the contrary: the Oktogon with the Hercules statue is impressive but pretty boring as compared to what we'll see in this post and the next one. That is ... the Löwenburg (Lion's Castle).
If it looks like a castle ruine and it feels like a castle ruine, one is tempted to think it IS a castle ruine, but as with so many things in this park it is not what it looks like. It is not a castle that has degraded into a ruine, it was constructed as such from the beginning. There's some things to see on the inside, but I liked the outside better.
