Kassel (Deutschland/Germany) - February 2020 - Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe - part 13

To end this Kassel series we move to the lowest part of the Bergpark Wilhelmshöhe, the part where you'll find an actual castle (on the contrary to the "fake" ruine here and here), Schloss Wilhelmshöhe. Landgrave Wilhelm IX of Hesse had it built in the late 18th century, Kaiser Wilhelm II made extensive use of it as a summer residence, and nowadays it houses the Gemäldegalerie Alter Meister (Old Masters Paintings Museum). It is very neoclassical and big and definitely worth two posts on PhotoBlog. Here's the first one:

Alas, there was no time for a walk through the museum (or we didn't take the time - the weather was too good smile).
