Sirok (Magyarország/Hungary) - Summer 2020 - part 2

After driving through the village (see part 1) we continued our trip to the castle. On the way up there (the last kilometre or so you have to travel by foot) we saw the second and third reason why we drove to Sirok: the Brother and the Nun (in Hungarian a Barát és az Apáca), two impressive rock formations formed when a crater scattered rhyolitic tuff during a volcanic eruption.

In this part and the next one we'll have a look at those rocks, which according to local legends hide two lovers that could never come closer to each other.

Look at #1 and #3 and you'll see what a difference a bit of direct sunlight can make ...

#1photo with the clouds looks magical. I like how one can see the sunlight on the green trees in #2.  Great that you have included humans for scale in #1 and #3!
