Accidental Creation

How do you usually eat an orange? For me, if the skin is thick, I usually cut the top off with a knife and then peel it. That's exactly what I did one morning at breakfast.

At clean up time, I noticed how the piece that I removed from the top of the orange actually looked like a flower with a stem, and it produced a good contrast when placed on the black breakfast counter which is made of granite with tiny pieces of copper embedded in the stone. Instead of throwing it into the trashcan, I kept the "flower" on the counter, quickly finished cleaning up, and went upstairs to get my camera.

This is what I came up with.

A "flower" made unintentionally from orange peel photographed on a black kitchen counter.

When I don't have opportunities to travel or just go out to take pictures, I am always keeping an eye out for candidates of some shooting fun at home.

Photography is seeing things from another prospective just like this beautiful orangy/flower from your kitchen counter.

Indeed, and I believe there are many more opportunities right around us than we realize. Thanks for leaving a comment, Ros.
