Cut Flowers Macro (2)

by Benny Law December. 19, 2019 435 views

It's not been a good couple of days. Just when I thought I was getting better, my heart problem hit again randomly, and it has been bad enough to disrupt my daily activities, coming and going with no fixed pattern. Having a very cold and gloomy winter day just makes it more depressing.

Time for some positive distraction. I haven't posted anything for a few days, so I was just looking through my image collection for something colourful and cheery, and I found some more macros of cut flowers that I shot at home with my Moto G phone in the past. I hope they help brighten your day, even if just a little.

Here is a link to my first post on cut flowers macro if you are interested.

Lovely flowers - I can see them as a series hanging on the wall. I'm sorry to hear about your health issues and I hope you are feeling better soon.
Perhaps you know the book The Little Prince? I think the original quote in French says it best:
“Voici mon secret. Il est très simple: on ne voit bien qu'avec le cœur. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.”

It is only with the heart that we can truly see since the essence is invisible to the eye.
In your works its true - your heart allows you to capture the essence of the object onto the photograph.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and support, Lee. I have heard of The Little Prince but have never read it myself. Sounds like there are some profound thoughts in it. Just curious, how many languages do you speak? I have counted at least 4 so far...

I thought most Canadians knew French?
I only speak 2 languages fluently , German and English. Perhaps I’ll brush up on Italian in my retirement since I will have more time :)smile

No, I believe most Canadians outside Quebec don't know French, or aren't fluent in French even if they know some French. That includes me.

btw in the book, The Little Prince, the prince takes care of a rose (flower). Perhaps you'll like it - it was written for children but actually adults get a lot of out of it.

They certainly brightened my day, and I hope they did yours as well! I can relate to your frustration. Recovery has been full of ups and downs, and the downs can be so discouraging, especially when you aren't sure why they are happening. Thinking of you and hope things improve for you soon.
I really like #4 - beautiful light and a very subtle shift from sharpness to softness.

Thank you so much for your kind words and well wishes, Bethany. I have yet to find a cure for my health problem, but I know that whatever happens, I'm in God's hands. Hope you are well on your way to a full recovery. Have a blessed weekend ahead.
