Endurance

Nature can be full of inspirations to us if we open our heart and mind to perceive and receive them. Just look at this lone pine standing firm on the edge of a rocky cliff. Bearing conspicuous scars caused by severe beatings from the elements, this fighter and survivor seems to be declaring, "I may be afflicted on all sides, but I am not crushed. No matter how hard life is, I will not give up."

You can see that another branch has broken off from this pine tree and is still sitting on the rock. It looks as if the poor tree is bowing in pain. Taken near the city of Boulder, Colorado.

Love this! I’m always inspired by “survivor trees” for just the reason you mentioned. Really enjoyed visiting northeast Colorado this past summer - lots of stunning views off rocky outcrops.

Yeah, and it felt so amazing to be immersed in that kind of environment. Too bad the flights from Toronto to Denver are so expensive.

Wonderful photo and message. I lived in Colorado for a while, so this one made me miss my old stomping grounds too. smile

Thanks, Bethany. I've only been to Colorado once, but it has already become my favourite state in the US. I would love to go back for another visit some day.

Thanks, Camellia. I wish I could spend more time being out in nature and receiving more inspirations.

The banner photo is a night scene of Hong Kong which is my birthplace. I took this photo when I went back for a high school reunion three years ago. It's a very interesting place to visit.

My daughter went to Hong Kong about two years ago ( she is an avid traveler) and loved it . She had the best time in her life and went all over experimenting and taking in the sights. Sadly she is not much of a photographer and did not take as many photos as I would have liked her to take, but I did live vicariously through her experience. smile
