Parque Eduardo VII

In my previous post on Pavilhão Carlos Lopes, I mentioned that the pavilion was located in a big park in the center of Lisbon called Eduardo VII Park. The following are photos of the park and the surrounding areas. My hotel happened to be just across the street from the park, so that is how I got to know about it. Don't expect to see photos of flowers though. It was February and nothing was blooming in the park. Nevertheless, it provided a very relaxing environment for a walk away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

A view of the southeastern corner (I think) of Eduardo VII Park shot through the glass of my hotel room window. The red buses on the parking lot behind the trees are the ones in photo #4.

The building with the white cranes on top is the hotel where I was staying. It's just across the street from the park. Sightseeing tours in buses like this one here never appeal to me, but I suppose they could be a quick way to find out where the interesting places are so I can revisit them later.

A long tiled walkway on a slope on the east side of the park. This is the uphill view. The airport is not far away, and low-flying jets coming in for landing were passing over rather frequently. Thanks to burst mode, I was able to capture this one at the right moment.

A lone woman is sitting on the upper deck of this tour bus waiting patiently for the bus to be loaded before departing for a sightseeing ride in the city. This spot is at the southern end of the park.

At the southern end of the park, there is a roundabout with a monument called the Marquis of Pombal Square, or Praça do Marques de Pombal in Portuguese. In this photo, you can also see a small sightseeing bus. Lisbon is a popular destination for tourists, and for good reasons.

There is lots more to come in this Lisbon series, so stay tuned. I just need to find time to clean them up in Affinity Photo first.

Loving the tour, especially on this platform since you can enlarge the view and really get the feel of the location. The shot with the airplane is perfect! smile

Yeah, that's what I like about this platform too. I don't know of another one that allows you to display photos full screen. It really does make a big difference in terms of the viewing experience.

Thanks, Antonio. It was unusual to see so many planes from a park, but it makes for an interesting photo.
