Back to Lisbon

In this post, I would like to return to my Lisbon series to show you a few more photos of this beautiful city. There are still more to go, but I have to find time to edit them first. I prefer to share just a few in every post to give you more time to look at them. Enjoy!

Many houses in Lisbon have white walls and red tiled roofs with lots of architectural character.

Old church buildings are a common sight especially in the older part of the city.

The original of this image is a bit boring, so I ran it through SPE to give it a mild painterly look with paper texture.

Brought back a few memories of my fleeting visit to Lisbon while serving in the Royal Navy many years ago

Royal Navy? That must have been some experience. I am not sure how much Liston has changed over the years, but it has preserved much of its historical heritage. Part of the city still looks very ancient.

Lisbon looks like a beautiful place.  I really like what you did with #3. I sense the angle and feel like I am right there! So many different things to observe in this image. The gentleman with the crossed legs walking, the vanishing point of the posts, people, colors , textures, reflections etc.  The sneak peak of the water in the foreground and of course the building!camera

You are a very observant person, Chuck! I am glad you take such interests in #3. I almost didn't include it until I put it through SPE and saw some redemptive properties in the result. Gotta love these wonderful tools.

It is definitely on my list of places to travel to. I really like your edit in #3. Do you remember what the overlay is called?

Do it, Camellia, when the pandemic is over. You won't regret it. Regarding the filter I used on #3, I am not 100% sure but I think it was the "Essential textures 001". You will probably need to play with the sliders to adjust the parameters since the default doesn't look that great. I also used Affinity Photo to make some more adjustments afterwards to tone down some of the vibrant colour patches.
