The Whitsundays and the Great Barrier Reef

After a few, too many, long days at Rainbow beach, we finally could escape and go to our next destination: The Whitsunday Islands. The day the roads opened for use, we only had 24 hours left to cover 1.000 km up the coast and we still did not know how we would do it, as the open-bus we had booked had a massive back log.

Renting a car was really difficult but, at the end, we could do it and, with F, “our good flooding friend” from Brazil, with whom we had spent most of the time at Rainbow Beach, and a really nice guy from Scotland, we hit the road for the long, almost non-stop drive. B was the chosen one for the driving feat.

And we did manage to get to Airlie beach with only 30 minutes to spare. Our boat was waiting for us there.

You can see the stern of the boat, with an alternative style Australian flag, on today's first picture.

The rest of the pictures show what a great time those 3 days on the boat were: with landscapes, good diving and sunsets all included (also, food).
