The Brick Lane Gallery is excited to present our Spring ABSTRACT ART, a show featuring the diversity of approaches and styles of abstraction through the works of local and international artists including representation from Belarus, Canada, Italy, Germany, Peru, the US and the UK. The exhibition explores key elements of natural and geometric abstraction, also offering a view of the diverse methods of creating an abstract work and applying paint to different surfaces, whether emphasizing or suppressing traces of the artist’s hand.
Ferruccio Ramadori expresses his art through the personal use of colour; a central theme to all of his work that often refers to the landscapes of his home in Umbria, Italy. His work has been defined as ‘inner landscapes’, a ‘place of remembrance’ and ‘chromatic fascination’ by critics. Svetlana Ochkovskaya transforms materials into objects of art by removing or reserving their original purpose. She is passionate about the arts and in expressing herself through various mediums including painting, photography, sculpture or site-specific installation. Her work is increasingly experimental, using a non-traditional and non-art materials such as expanding foam, sealant and polystyrene.
We are invited by these group of artists to see a variety of pieces that break away from the traditional representation of physical objects.
You are warmly welcome to join us for a drink with the artists at the opening night of ABSTRACT ART at The Brick Lane Gallery-The Annexe open from 6pm-8.30pm on Wednesday 8th June 2016.
