Week's Happenings

This week has been great for Travis and I to relax and enjoy our time here in Graz. The weather has been better here than it has been at home. I actually had the chance to sit outside by the pond across the street and study for a little while in only a t-shirt and sweat shirt. We are starting to see the blue sky more and more days throughout the week. Yesterday, one of my new friends decided to go back to the states because of homesickness, so I had a girl's day with her on Wednesday. We just walked around the city, visited the oldest bakery in Austria and got some kebaps. Which are extremely popular here! Kebaps are Turkish sandwiches. They are the same sandwiches I mentioned about a month ago that Travis just loved. You can choose to have chicken or lamb, then they put just about every vegetable you can think of on it with some type of sauce. The bread is home made and so it is pretty delicious. After Madelyn and I parted ways, I explored the city a little more and just window shopped for a while on my own. I just love the culture here-it's very different from the states. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's just different. Today neither Travis nor I have class, so we decided to spend the afternoon in the city. We plan on walking around and going to a few of the specialty shops. There's a full shop that's just for tea. So I'm sure I'll be showing Travis where that is and checking it out for a good amount of time. The city center is right beside Schlossberg (castle hill), which has a park, so we will be able to hike around there a little bit too. It should be a pretty good day. The sun is out, it's not raining(which is rare in this city), and we have the day to explore.

The pictures are of the church I've mentioned before, I went back and got some better pictures. It's in city center/Congress/Hauptplatz.
