I love vynil and CD, but CDs are more portable and durable. I use digital also but the sound quality can rally suck in some mp3's.

Film is cool and probably really fun to experiment with but far more costly to the new lerner who would wast a lot of film and chemicals for development. So for me at this point in life, I use digital with manual capabilities. Also, processing and filtering that would take hours in a lab, I can do in seconds with Photoshop. So, its easier and saves time.

I wouldnt consider this a debate so much as it is a poll. Im not really sure that people can debate these topics because they are really about personal preferences more than true advantages.

in my opinion what it interests they are the caught moments but the digital one exists a thing gives to take off the photos and to choose best the etc and later we do not need to wait for the revelation but I when I see the photos in the digital one or in the computer feeling is different of when we have them in the hand. They do not find?

Vinyl vs CD...IPOD

I love lomo for certain images, but not all.

If I had the room for a lab in my house, I might say film. I used to love developing my own shots back in school, but my kids take up most of the room in my house so I'm going to have to say digital.

I still use filters and photoshop. Circular polarizers cannot be duplicated in photoshop. I also love using my ND and split ND filters. I love photoshop. It lets me achieve the results of what other photographers who had tens of thousands of dollars of equipment had. I can also do many other things that can't be duplicated in a lab(see my cloning posts). Still, I miss the smell of the developers and the moment when the image first appears in the lab.

Is any of this up for debate...sure, but not by me. I live by a to each their own philosophy. Do what you do and don't worry about what anyone else does.

No! :)
Scanning is not even in the debate. If I chose it to illustrate this discussion it had to be related to the technologies at stake or under scrutiny!

sooner than latter, latter than never...
digital over analogic! there isn't a reason to do it other wise...ok...nostalgy! but that one is at the end of today's list...
in the end it comes back to TIME...think about it...or not

I would have to go with CD, for portability and sound...
...however, I have never found a purple heart-shaped CD, and I *do* have a vinyl one. So, for collectibility vinyl wins hands-down.

what matters ...... i go for digtal as it is different from film..like u can see the pictures immediately rather than developing it (film).there is probability of improper developing of film could coz loss of great clicks...........evolve with the world or u things will perish slowly...........

Don't know what Lomo is. and I would say it is up to the person on CD or Vinyl. I like 30's and 40's music and there is just something about the crackling on the old vinyl while hearing Fats Waller play a tune or Stan Getz and listeing to the Glenn Miller band...aaw the crackling and noise!! Live music is good so is CD and Vinyl. Photoshop don' t have it don't even know what it is.
Digital ALL THE WAY!!!

I agree on that...
ppl this days, especially ppl my age, tend to care just on how hot is the guy/girl that sings, and less about the music and lyrics...
just, stupid groupies... and I like the sound of vinyl too...
but you can't find that much vinyl or vinyl readers... my grandma has one that she doesn't use, and I asked her for it... let's see... :D

All different, shouldn't compare. What matters is what YOU (the creator) want. If the creation is for an intended audience/viewer, then obviously the needs of others have to be considered, quality, what they like, etc... If it is about expressing yourself, surely no matter old or new, as long as you are comfortable with it, and it can express and deliver the message that you want. Personally, I like CDs, simply smaller, and I probably can't tell the different, Digital because most of my shots end up in the bin, Photoshop for the same reason.

i would say ...it depends - there is something to be said about listening to my favorites from back in the day with crackles and all on vinyl but carrying my ipod can't be beat.

Someone I work with is transfering all his vinyl to his computer and someone asked if he filters out the pops and vinyl noise and he almost did a spit take, the person asking the question was an engineer so it's the clean sound or nothing I guess. But he wasn't going to filter out the vinyl sound because that's crazy talk.

CD. I prefer quality over nostalgia.
LOMO vs. Lame, wouldn´t know.
Digital. Versatility.
Photoshop. Same reason.
Am I talking too much?
