Europe Africa summit... it was here... :)

by Jorge Cardoso December. 10, 2007 5274 views

This weekend, and as part of the portuguese presidency of the European Union (E. U.), we had the E. U. / Africa Summit in Lisbon, Portugal. It was the second ever… the first took place in Egypt seven years ago.

So, the leaders of Africa and Europe got together and decided that it was more important than ever to build a partnership for the future!

In my latest posts I've been showing you the PDN = Parque das Nações (or Park of Nations) where big meetings like this take place.

There are very special buildings in this part of the city… and today I'll be showing you the one done by architect Álvaro Siza.

(another side of this structure can be seen in photos # 9, 10 and 11 of my post of December 6, called LX07PDNeGO)

I`ll be curious to see the results of that "partnership" in the near future... It is a wonderful thing, but what we see mostly is a lot of talking and less doing! I like your messages... you keep your eyes open!

Nayah :)

you are absolutely right: it's the OCEANÁRIO! :)

(recently there was a film made there by the National Geographical TV about a special marine species being rescued and then sent back to the ocean)

Thanks for your comment and great shots! I have visited that place a few months ago! The roof is only 5 cm thick or something like that right ? Amazing!!!! I really liked that place....It was great!!!! There is also a place with lots of fishes I think? Where you have a big underground aquarium... I loved it! Especially all the colors of the fishes! I will try to find my pictures....
