This is probably the first time that this outstanding mural will be comprehensively displayed and photographed in its entirety.
It is located in GAIA which is on the other side of the river from PORTO (Portugal). The artists used the walls surrounding “Arrábida Place” which is a residential complex with fantastic views of the river Douro and of the city of Porto.
The name of the buildings is mentioned on the mural and it has never been vandalized by graffiti hoodlums (tagging over it) or local authorities (painting the walls white).
That’s because it’s not located on the other side of the Arrábida bridge i. e. in Porto. There rules the fierce mayor Roy River and he likes all walls white!
Like so many other creatures, he doesn’t care much about culture and cannot find the difference between
GRAFFITI and TAGS, on one side
MURALS and STREET ART on the other!
It will take quite a few posts to show you the whole mural so bear with me…
I will be following the artwork from the south side towards the north.
So basically it will be:
FACING NORTH = NEW STUFF
FACING SOUTH = ALTERNATIVE IMAGE from previously presented character
