Swirling Softly

by Amy Caldwell January. 08, 2021 226 views

A quite windy day and I thought I'd play with the ND filters. A nice moody stormy look even though it wasn't really, just windy not stormy. It makes the lake look soft and gentle. When the wind blows it's neither soft nor gentle.
The black specks are sand on my lens-that's how windy it was.

The lighthouse is a mile away. The pink splotch on the right is a kite surfer.

Drift wood

Drift wood

The waves roll endlessly one after the other, mesmerizing. Crashing, deafening, unending. Well, they end when the wind stops, I guess. Some days it's flat as glass. Not this day

Great images! Something about standing on the beach, watching and listening to the ocean!

Thank you! Yes, I could stand there all day. It's my favorite place, especially when the weather is less pleasant. This is Lake Michigan, one of the  Great Lakes.
