Turkey invasion

Not sure where they came from, I looked out the window and saw them crossing the street.

they just walked through the neighbor's yard.

Bye Bye..

The next year there was a flock that spent a lot of time in our yard, they would roost in trees right in back of the house. We got to watch them quite a bit. Then the next year there were only 3-4. Last year I rarely saw them, but they lunched in my garden so I now they were somewhere. Today on my way out I had to stop in the road for 6 of them.....I do enjoy watching them, just wish they would stay out of my garden.

I guess they have to come out of hiding in these times of scarce available food sources! Thanks for sharing! Nice series!+1

Wild turkeys roaming in town? Do you live near some natural habitats? Are they protected?

There are a few parks and natural areas near us. We are in a lower density residential area. They are not protected. They can be hunted, but you need a license, etc.  Although the houses in my neighborhood are a bit too close together to shoot things and in the public parks, you can't just go there and start shooting anytime you like. I think the birds know this....smile We get deer in our yard also, same with them--they know where they're safe.
