Poppies, cornflowers, vetch. Poppies are not all red and orange. Some are pink.

Last year, after a story on the news I went to see this field of poppies, actually a field planted 1/4 mile or so down the road near a cemetery. They planted the poppies to honor their son, who had served in the military. I kind of missed the peak color last year so I thought I'd take a drive a week earlier to see if I could get a better look this time.
Lucky me—I didn't know when I drove out that they didn't plant any this year. Found out after, this field above was planted 2 years ago. It seems after thousands upon thousands of people came to visit last year after the news story it was (apparently) rather overwhelming in this small town. These are poppies that just reseeded themselves and bloomed in spite of out extremely dry weather. Sometimes beauty is meant to be enjoyed. :) Sometimes I am lucky. :)

I have seen many typical photos of poppy fields, but this one is special with the blue flowers mixed in, and some pink too.
