I have been working on how to use my cameras pop-up flash indoors. What it came down to was setting my exposure value and flash intensity at negative and fiddling around with the other settings until I got what I wanted. What I wanted was rich color and not that flashy, blown out look. After many dozens of photos, I have come fairly far.

This was using the natural light coming from the window.

A lamp and a white background.

This time a real rose, in front of a window.

In front of my computer screen.
I have not even begun to grasp using a flash...great practice!
Thanks, Stephanie! The change in weather has me spending less time outside, so I figured it was a good time to practice some new techniques.
I think I might purchase a speed light this winter and try to get better at it. It's definitely a skill! Good for you!
