Positano, Italy

by Camellia July. 14, 2017 1848 views

Part of our trip to Italy took us to the Amalfi Coast. The coastline is made up of small cliff side villages, connected to each other with very narrow roads. For someone who is afraid of heights the drive to our first destination, Positano, was not very pleasant. Needles to say there were several instance where I closed my eyes so as not to see the drop. Fortunately, we had a very good driver who seemed to know the roads like the back of his hand.

Once in Pasitano, we were dropped off at our hotel. But because the roads are so narrow and no place to park our driver dropped us off about half a block from the hotel at the bus stop. Yes, big buses traverse these roads that are shared with pedestrians as well, and that is an experience in itself.

Our hotel had the most amazing view which helped me exercise my trigger happy finger.

Hi Cameilla.....those are gorgeous pictures of Amalfi Coast, I remember when I started out with Photoshop many years ago, I did a search with Google Images, and those were my first experience in doing digital painting...so here we go again, doing digitals of Amalfi.

Hi Sydney, I can't tell you the number of pictures I took during this trip and the number I took of the coast alone but  I can tell you the place is amazing!

Hi, I can imagine. I was just thinking to myself, where the hell is she keeping all the pictures?
Those pixs remind me, but of course not so beautiful, and somewhere I think in Brazil, they have cities, I dont remember what they are called, but have homes built on the side of mountains, but those are where the poor of the country build.

Interesting enough a friend of mine went to Iran a few months ago and he captured areas in Tabriz that also have these types of stacked up housing on the side of the mountain.  Makes me wonder how they might be related historically.

Camellia, what I think the connection is, that these type of communities, are basically poor people, and a lot of criminality goes on there, thats what I know about the Brazil area. Lot of MMA fighter come from that area, thats how they get out of the cycle.
