Beauty In The Sky

by Camellia December. 16, 2018 352 views

Sometimes you just have to capture a beautiful thing no matter how many times you have captured it before. In this case the trees that stand in our backyard have had their picture taken one thousand and one times. Not because they are such beautiful trees, on the contrary they are somewhat ugly trees, especially at this time of the year when they have lost all their leaves. But because they stand between the camera and the sky behind it.

After having spent the last few days and nights looking at dark, gray, foggy skies, the emergence of the colorful sky last night was a blessing.

It begged to be captured.

#1 I would beg to differ that the trees are ugly. The lines of the trees are quite beautiful the broken off branches show its age and character . I could be biased because 70-80% of our trees keep the leaves through out the year . Even the majestic Live Oak Tree only looses part of its leaves in Fall and part in Spring .  So those species that loose the leaves are special to me. Even when I lived in WV winter was special because I could see the trees and not the leaves. Also I could see the mountains too.  #2 The sky is quite beautiful I completely understand how it is looking at grey skys . Today is the first day the sun is shining with a "boring" blue sky in what feels like ages. I know the last 3 weekends it has been grey , rainy, and foggy from time to time.
