Nice shots. And I definitely must invest in a macro lens this year (I see there's a macro challenge every month in this 365 thing) ...

Bjorn look into Tokina A-TX 100 f/2.8 I have heard lots of good things about it for the price. Although, I must say I like the Ryanox 250 attachment quite well, it does a pretty decent job of magnifying.

Cool shot. The DoF is nice . Do you make use of live view when doing macro shots? I havent played with too many macro shots yet so I am looking for different techniques that might help cut the learning curve .

No I have not, maybe that is what I need to do. I have also thought about tethering the camera to my laptop and see how that works. Next experimental day smile

How is the manual focus (throw) . I know on the 100mm macro tokina it is very similar to an old manual focus film lens. Hmm laptop I may have to steal my daughters or check out and see if apple has a canon app. Honestly one thing that most excited me about the Nikon D850 was the focus stacking in camera . I hope Canon will adopt something similar one day soon or opt B. I will have the $$ to get my required focal lengths and another body in a different camera brand hehe.

Sadly the Nikon 750 does not have in camera stacking but so many people are using the Helicon app. for the staking claiming it does a much better job than Photoshop, so that too might be my next investment.

Thanks. Still need to work on that focus, might have to invest in a focus rail.

This particular pine cone traveled all the way from South Caroline. Interesting enough it was all closed up tight, which is what grabbed my attention. In the house, the air seems to have cause it to spread out. But still quite nice since the pine cones we get here are rather small.
