I spent most of the day trying to think of what to post for today's theme. Then suddenly I caught the sun shinning on these two figurines sitting on the mantel and there was my answer. I brought these figurines back with me when I had gone to visit my parents, who at the time were living in Kenya while I was living in Denver, seems like a lifetime ago....... actually was. These were being made by one of the men from the Maasai tribe. I stood there watching him create one of these figurines. Basically took a hunk of wooden and meticulously started carving. So, of course I had to buy his art 😊

Excellent dark photography - absolutely perfect  for these sculptures! It sounds like you have had very interesting travels in your life. And here I thought you'd post about the Chicago Cultural Center ...😉

I so admire anyone who can create art.  I cannot imagine being able to carve something like that.   I can't even draw a good stick man.  art

Bob you and I are in the same boat. This carving definitely shows the artistic capability of some people.
