People Watching (continued)

We are at the Fat Ass 5K & Street Party for Charity and the most exciting happening is....

"Free hot dogs! Free hot dogs! Reach out and catch them!!!"

Hot dogs in buns, wrapped in foil, were placed in the above contraption and shot into the air.

People, all lined up in the middle of the street, waited for the hot dogs to land in their hands. After several rounds of shooting the dogs towards the participants and after singing the national anthem, the racers stepped out.

Not everyone ran or walked, some peddled the pub instead.

At every corner of the streets, there was some form of entertainment such as a band, a solo singer, even Elvis Himselvis.

And then the skies opened up and the rain started pouring. But that did not deter the enthusiastic participants. They continued walking and running. I instead, found refuge under the awning of a building. But not just any building. I found the best spot to hang out and watch the people.

If you have been trying to figure out why all the participants are looking up and trying to reach for something, let me help you out. This particular spot, the perfect spot that I found to take cover, is the area where doughnut holes are being tossed out to the runners. We all know that doughnuts, especially doughnut holes are the sustenance for all athletes. OK maybe not all athletes, maybe just the fat ass ones.😉

And so this concludes this year's Fat Ass 5K run. It was a fun time even though it rained and I know I will probably be back again next year.🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

This is one of the best things about PB - people in different parts of the world posting about stuff local to them that shows a part of their culture noone else around the world would get to see. Weird and wonderful... definitely weird!

Yes it is a pub on wheels and you can rent it for 2 hours at a time. It stops at local bars you can drink at or pickup liquor and pedal to the next.

That leg in #15 ... Apparently somebody got hurt during the shooting of this, uhm, athletic event smile

Bjorn I honestly did not notice the leg. I scrolled up and down several times thinking, either Bjorn has had one too many or he tagged the wrong photo and then I noticed it! Wow you do have good eyes!! Obviously they are using it as weight to keep the rain off their amplifier. I would love to know the story behind it. Good catch Bjorn!! smile

It was right in the middle of the photo, just couldn't miss it (on the contrary to the owner of the leg) smile

Well what can I say...some of us are blinder than others and some of us are less attentive than others and some of us were totally mesmerized by the number of flowers on the vehicle.

I will have to come back to this set a few times - so much fun! We did the pub cycle thing for one of my brother-in-laws' 40th birthday, and it turned into a quite a drunken adventure. smile Great captures of a festive occasion!

I have not done the cycle yet, but I can imagine the amount of fun one can have.
