Recycled Nest

by Camellia Staab June. 17, 2019 288 views

A couple of days ago I noticed a robin sitting in the nest that is hanging off of our rain spout. You know the same nest that I wrote about in this post.

Apparently robins' nests are recyclable. I am not sure if this mom is the same mom that laid eggs last May, but according to this post, there is a possibility that they use the same nest if they have good nesting success.

Anyway, the eggs have hatched and here are a few unfocused photos taken from behind a window.

Hopefully these guys will eventually be able to leave the security of their nest without the presence of the neighbor's cat scaring the bejesus out of them.😼

They are rather fascinating to watch. I just wish the nest was lower so that I could actually see the nestlings. But we all know lower only means danger for them smile
