Urban Streets (part 1)

If someone were to ask me, " What is the one thing you really like about Chicago?"

I would not be able to give them an answer.

There are so many things that are appealing to me in this city. The architecture, the skyline, the lake, the people, the metal work, the L, the fire escapes, the murals, the hubbub, and on and on and on.....

On this trip I followed the advise of my photography friend, Frank. Whenever we are out shooting he says: " Look up, look down, look ahead, look behind you."

I looked and looked and while in some of these photos you will not be able to tell if I am looking ahead or behind undoubtedly, you will be able to tell if I am looking up or down.

I believe it has to do with one's state of mind and stage in life. thirty some odd years ago when we lived in Chicago and vicinity, I really did not pay much attention to it. And for years I would tell my husband if I were to go to a big city, New York would be it. But the more I visit Chicago, now , so as to have a reason to use my camera, I find so many interesting and beautiful things about. This last trip especially was very fulfilling. Not sure if it was the weather, my state of mind or just "kismet" but I fell in love with Chicago.
