Mushrooms

by Camellia August. 08, 2019 100 views

These two tiny mushrooms were growing in the yard. Since I am not versed in fungi, I had to look them up.

These tiny guys are called Coprinus plicatilis or Parasola plicatilis. That's right, parasol. If the word rang a bell that's because they do look like pleated Japanese parasol, hence the name. While they were the only two in the yard, they did stand out within all the green grass, but they did not last long. Within the hour they were no longer there.

It is amazing to me how some mushrooms will last forever and others but a brief moment in time.

This small world is so inviting. When I captured my mushroom images a few weeks ago "shrooms" I was compelled to put some little Gnomes next to as to round out the mood. Lovely photos Camellia

Thank you. I don't know which part of photography I like the most....."small world" or 'big world". Both have so much to offer.
