In the lower level of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis there is a small museum which provides additional information and art work as well as other artifacts as related to the construction and rites of the church.

If you have been to the Cathedral, you know that the beauty of the place is breath taking and no amount of photos do it justice. But if you haven't been and want to get an idea as to whether it would be worth a trip, here are a few photos that may encourage you to see the place with your own two eyes. Check this post and this post for some photos of the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis.

Very interesting. I stayed longest at #3. It's so interesting seeing the first picture of this 'wooden barrack' - and than the following pictures that show the development into the basilica!

The riches of the church are immens, shouldn't they help the poor. Nice to see this museum; When even in St Louis have to visit this Basilica;

The mosaic art is breathtaking. I've seen one of the most beautiful examples in the Vatican

That is exactly why I was surprised when we entered this place, never knew that outside of the Vatican there was so much beauty, and created with such patience.
