Traveling Down Under- Day 3, Melbourne, Street Art

by Camellia Staab December. 02, 2019 549 views

Melbourne’s laneways and side streets are widespread with street art, some are better quality than others, but none are as extensively decorated as Hosier Lane.

The pedestrian laneway is located near the city center and every inch of the walls of the street and its side alleys, including dumpsters, are covered in spray paint and other mixed-media. Local and international artists use the walls as a temporary canvas for their works, and even without knowing the stories behind the paintings or the artists, the art is very interesting to look at.

Bright and full of explosive colors. A painters palette of creative street art at its best. Nice job of capture!

These are wonderful photos, Camellia. Some of it may be described as graffiti but most of it is as you describe - art. I'm always amazed at the skills of the street artists. Amazing. There are more than a couple of gallons of paint on those buildings! Thanks for sharing this feast for the eyes.
