Dandelion Clock Art

by Camellia Staab April. 25, 2020 970 views

Macro photography needs quite a bit of patience. But what needs even more patience is combining macro photography with dandelion clocks.

Positioning the clocks takes steady hands (which I don't have) and nimble fingers (also something I don't have) subsequently, used tweezers.

Once you have the clocks in position, you then have to spray and spray and spray and spray some more before you actually get water droplets to adhere to the clocks.

And then you start clicking away.

Camellia!!! These are incredible! I don't even know what to say, except these have to be some of your best, and you are one talented lady, so that's saying something. Wowza!

Thank you Bethany. I am not sure talent has much to do with it, but being home and trying to entertain myself has a lot to do with it smile

These are exquisite!  Love them all!  I was thinking of doing this as well but haven’t gotten around to it but now you have inspired me.  Did you set them in a plate of milk with some sticky tack? Also, did you use a syringe for the water droplets (pure water or with glycerin) or did you spray them on?  All I can say is WOW!  Great job, Camellia! 👏👏👏

P.s. I have never heard the expression dandelion clock before; I’ve always called them dandelion puffs.  I guess I’ll have to wait a while before I try this out, as there are no dandelions here yet!

Helen, I had to look the word up because it was new to me. I did set them up in milk with sticky tack and sprayed, this time, with plain/colored water. Thank you smile

Thanks Benny, can't say it wasn't fun trying. Might be worth another go if this solitude continues, which in our area it will continue for another month smile
