Chasing Dragonflies

This one flew everywhere and nowhere, but I followed because it is the season. He is cool but definitely and hopefully not the only one I see for the season.

Good capture. Still have to photograph a blue one. For the moment not many around here

it's been a slow process here as well. Actually slow process on a lot of bugs. Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing smile

So beautiful these little creatures are. I wonder what it would feel like to take our cameras to the Carboniferous period. Certainly, we would not need a macro lens to snap a dragonfly with the wingspan of 28 inches.

These guys can be really colourful. They make for better images when their wings reflect light and are more visible. I love the patterns in their wings. This one you followed has nice colours which I haven't seen before.

I agree they are very colorful and very fast. I do enjoy trying to capture them on camera.

Really nice photos, Camellia. If I wore a hat, I would tip it to you. When I try taking photos of these guys I just end up with a nice picture of a twig or rock but no dragonfly (my photographic timing is way off when it comes to them).
