Phase 4

Phase four (Revitalization) of the Covid-19 safety guidelines took into effect in our State last Friday, while part of Florida and Texas decided it was time to revert back due to the number of people who became infected in their States.

For me it was an opportunity to do some street photography since I had not been out and about in a long long time.

In my mind what better place to do some street photography but the Saturday weekly farmer's market downtown. So with camera in hand, off I went.

The market is definitely not set up the way it used to be. Only vendors who actually have had a hand in the growth/production of their merchandise could attend.

Therefore, way less vendors.

Of course those who attended had to follow the 6 feet apart rules.

1) No touching of any kind!

Meaning you may not touch the fruit or veggies prior to purchasing. Point to what you want and the vendor will bag it for you.

2) Face masks required while walking around.

This is an outdoor event, but to ensure safety, face masks were recommended.

3) Walk in this direction (somehow walk like an Egyptian comes to my mind).

Arrows were drawn on the ground to show pedestrians which directions they should enter and exit from.

You get the idea.....lots of restrictions.

But thankfully no restrictions as far as photography.

And this is our version of Aldous Huxley's "Our Brave New World."

Nice report, but with this topic I'm sorry to be pessimistic. Here in Spain we have been with the alarm status raised for a week in what they call new normality, that is, there are restrictions such as the use of a mask in public interiors and the street when 2 meters are not respected, mandatory to sanitize hands when accessing a place ... but since I work I am observing that people do not comply with these measures and new outbreaks of the disease are already being heard. Regrettable. Greetings and take care.

Nice pixs...from the photos I get the impression, that the folks there, had a cautious look on their faces, almost like their were doing something naughty, hoping they don't get caught. You caught them with your roaming camera.

Nice to see how it is in another cuntries. What does people do with masks.  I like watching different types of them. May be you don't know but owing to your post I can see US and think about people living there.

Here it happened the same. As soon as the lockdown ended the number of infected people peaked. Now we are in a kind of a lockdown again but with less restrictions. Love all the details, the people and so on

You captured this strange new world pretty good, Camellia. My eyes were glued to #20 for a while. Just very pleasant to look at.

On Saturday I also visited a farmers market in Midleton near Cork. Its over 30 years old & where they started from. Darina Allen of Ballymaloe house one of the founders was also there. Few masks but plenty of distancing. Missed the music

That's another things that missing from this market; music. Normally they have a few vocalists and guitarist around the area strumming away or singing away, none this time 😑
