Blue Dasher

Today was my luckiest day because this beauty decided to visit me in my backyard.

Capturing dragonflies is one my favorite pass times and apparently someone told this guy how much I love chasing and capturing him and his brother/sisters.

Therefore he was more than willing to just hang and let me get pretty close and snap away. I didn't care if I filled my card up with his pictures, after all no dragonfly sits still as long as he did for me.

Some of the captures are not as sharp as they should be, but I don't care.

Yes, Benny I did use your "stance" since I knew going for the tripod would be futile.

A dragonfly can move each of its four wings independently from the others.

Dragonflies are expert fliers. They can fly straight up and down, hover like a helicopter and even mate mid-air.

Aaaaaah a blue one, can you send him over. Very nice captures. Here are not many dragonflies to spot for the moment. And for sure not blue ones.

All the blue ones seem to be on this side of the world this year.

I can't believe I favorited a bunch of insect photos, but these are exceptional! (Dragonflies aren't quite as scary.)

Yes, only their name is scary otherwise pretty harmless and as long as they keep the mosquito population down, I am all for them smile

Words cannot express just how good these photos are but let me try: high quality, superiority, brilliance, greatness, merit, caliber, eminence, preeminence, supremacy, peerlessness, transcendence, value, worth; skill, talent, genius, virtuosity, accomplishment, expertness, mastery, prowess, smile Still the photos are better than the words and even that famous 1000 words of a picture and that might not accomplish this task.+1

What did you do...open up the dictionary and copied every adjective you could find? smile
Thank you, I am quite pleased even with the ones that are off focus.

It was just a thing called a thesaurus. Helps me when I am lost for words by beautiful photos.smile
