Ironic

Sitting outside I see this plane.

Oh by the way if you are wondering....I was sitting outside with my camera and waiting to capture the two humming birds that seem to have recently learned about my feeder.

Anyway, back to my story, I am sitting outside, with camera in hand and see this plane fly over me.

Naturally, I aim and shoot.

Of course from "million' miles away, I can't tell what airline it is until, I bring the photo into Lightroom.

And....low and behold it is an American Eagle airlines.

You are probably going......so what?

Well, let me explain.

I have quite a bit of credit with them, since I bought tickets to travel before Covid 19, but had to cancel those flights for obvious reasons.

In return for the cancellation, they gave me credit for future use.

And you are going...

OK so what's the big deal?

Here's the big deal.....

They decided to stop servicing our airport.

Hence, I wonder....was this plane the last one out of our airport......

Hi Camellia,

It will get to normal sooner or later and American Eagle will come back to your airport. If it doesn‘t, I would go to another airport for the pure enjoyment of flying with them.

Lufthansa offered me a refund for a cancelled flight three months ago. I keep waiting....

Cheers, Piotr.

Great Picture.  You are right about the holiday/ vacation  sector. Most companies are heading for a spiral  downturn  in turnover.  Our planned holiday this year was like thousands if not millions of other peoples cancelled due to this pandemic. We received a full refund and again like a lot of people we have used the money to concentrate on improving our home and garden. Taking pictures of planes is as close as many of us will get to them nowadays as we become a growing 'stay at home ' population.

Yes, I know there are many, many out there in the same situation as I, but there is one things Stephen, I don't want to be part of the growing 'stay at home" population but I can see that if things go as they are I have no choice smile

Lol...you know it can land on my house, as long as it takes me away with it....kind of like "Hey Culligan Man take me away" commecials.

We've just cancelled a trip to Hamburg in October. Managed to get refunds for everything luckily, apart from the flights which they let us change. So we changed to flights to Belfast next May instead. We'll see what happens by then. Hope you get to fly eventually. That's some humming bird you have there though, more of a roaring bird.

The capture is awesome Camellia. I have tickets bought to Bolivia and Chile and Iberia do not even reply . No vouchers, no credit, no return.

Wow that is a bummer. I guess I shouldn't moan and groan since at least I have some credit with them. Hope things change for the better soon and we all get to travel smile

Possible, I just found it ironic that it would fly over our house since I am nowhere close to the airport. Must be a sign from above grinning

Hopefully, sooner, rather than later........however, here in Washington, kids will not be going back to regular school for this whole new academic year; not an optimistic sign for any quick return to "normalcy"........argh!!!
