Horizon Lines

Week 5 of the 52 frame challenge is, as you notice from the title, horizon lines.

According to the website the whole purpose of this week's challenge is to ascertain that one's photo is level.

OK!

Now what?

Well then on the same page they have the weekly extra credit challenge and this week's extra credit is:

"Break the Rule"

With a tutorial called Break the rules with the Dutch Angle composition

To me none of this made sense nor inspired me to create anything.

There was no horizon to shoot the first 3 days of the week.

The weather on the crappy side.

Typical grey winter days. Bare trees, lifeless brown grass. Just nothing to look at.

Until Thursday, when mother nature decided to help me out with this challenge, and create the perfect scene for a capture or two.

I like them all very much. Winter pictures, but very warm in fact.

Nice, Camellia - I can't easily get to a traditional horizon, so I shot inside at a perfectly level set of horizontal lines and used the Dutch angle, although all my life I have called it "the tilt". But what do I know? I just love to break rules.

Thank you John. Breaking rules usually brings with a lot of fun and on occasions trouble smile

Hi Camellia!  I'm also on 52Frames.  Nice to see you here!  I like the second one best.  Which did you submit?

All these years I've been correcting my Dutch Angle in Photoshop and I needn't have bothered. Every photo I take.smile

Thank you Peter. The colors are exactly what grabbed my attention when looking out the window. I knew then that I had to rush outside and grab a photo or two before the sun had moved higher.
