The other day, a friend on Photoblog, who shall remain nameless, mentioned some names of cheeses in their blog.
Me, being a turophile, also a word my friend taught me (had to look it up), decided to look for such named cheeses; one in particular.
Lucky me, the cheese fancier, found the said named cheese.
One problem.....cheese not found locally BUT could be mail ordered.
So, naturally, I mail ordered.
Order the said named cheese and pay an exuberant amount of money for shipping.
buy enough cheeses to get FREE shipping.
Can you guess which I did?
Actually there is one cheese missing from the above photo....
Somehow he was still in the fridge when I took the photo.
Therefore, the Dane had the benefit of having a solo pose.
I have opened two of the cheeses so far.
I ate half of the Appenzeller yesterday and I am in love!
It is the relative of the Swiss cheeses, keeping in mind, it is originally made in the Swiss mountainous canton of Appenzell near the Austrian border.
It is semi hard, has a nutty flavor, and yet oh so smooth.
I opened up the Buttermilk Blue for lunch today, and if you like Blue you will love this one.
Not overpowering, a melt in your mouth, soft creamy cheese.
And the other cheeses?
Well..... they are awaiting my palate.😋
