Illinois State Fair 2021

If you have never been to a State Fair, you are in for a treat.

But if this is your three thousandth time, well........... the treat has worn out.

Even so, you end up going, because after all this is THE STATE FAIR, and it only happens once a year (for ten days). Plus it was on hiatus last year, therefore more reason for going.

First stop......the swine barn

Exhaustion

Exhaustion

Lunch time at Taft's

Lunch time at Taft's

Next- the ovine barn.....the grooming

Ovine judging...

Walk by the racing horses....

and then the people....

And all that was just the first 15 minutes.

I can only assume that he is here because one of his kids is showing, Otherwise he would be happier at home in his own bed smile

So glad you led with the animals - back in the day, the fair was all about them. Seems today, there are so many more rides, attractions and food stalls. Oh, well. I want that four wheel scooter cart in #7 - a custom paint job (flames!), chrome reverses and ground effects, with a kicking stereo. Yeah, baby!

🤣🤣 That is actually what grabbed my attention. Next to the old golf cart this scooter was the bomb and if you spruce it up the way you have in mind, it will "the cruiser" of all times!! 😎😊

When I was growing up my father ran a Milk Barn Display at the Fair,  I always enjoyed going to state fairs, however had not gone in a long time and last year it had been canceled, I was thinking about going this year,   if its still going to happen I will go smile   Camellia   thanks for sharing all the fantastic captures, love all the animals pictured    Fun times

We always got taken to agricultural shows like this as a kid. It brings back all the smells and sounds. Wafts of animals and wafts of candy floss and warm sugar and the echoing of the PA system around the field making announcements nobody can quite make out. At wet events everyone tip toeing across the wooden walkways or tracks of straw trying not to get their feet wet. Uncle Dai in his Sunday best meeting all his mates for one pint too many. This is something that not only translates really well from there to here but obviously has not changed much there either.grinning

Read your comments, line by line and all that went through my head was "spot on!!" "spot on!!" From here .....to there, the fair seems to be the same, hence why the treat is gone.......but not really smile
