by Ram Ya January. 28, 2017 2276 views

This is part 2 of my trip to Tosho-gu in Nikko, Japana. I was accompanied to this sacred temple complex by @yokai on my trip to Japan. For part 1 please visit here. I know I have not replied to all the comments in my last posts. I have caught a terrible flu and still recovering from it. I will be sure to reply to all your comments in the coming days. Thanks for your encouragements!

A fascinating post - the architecture is so different to anything we have here.

This would look good in our brand new architecture weekly theme. Just saying! :-)

Thank you for the kind word's Chelsie! Glad to meet another traveler who enjoyed this country as much as I did.
I miss Japan, too. When were you there last time? Please do upload some photos, I will be following you to get an update :)

I think I was there last in the year of 2007-2008. I taught English there for a year as part of an internship through college. I majored in Japanese, of course. That was when I lived on the island of Hokkaido.
I really enjoyed those kids and made a lot of really great friends. It was definitely an experience I will never forget.

A propos my previous posts I find photography is a fascinating mix of (a) artistic rendition (b) technical execution and (c) the capture of memory moments that will help when the effects of time start kicking in - you know the word for that! As an amateur to a professional - "you do all right for me". Iv'e enjoyed the views in all the aspects of critique above. Keep them coming

Thank you very much, Jay!
#3 is wish-fulfilling cryptomeria cedar tree. They are considered sacred. A fact that I didn't know until you asked me about it :)

The bark looks like cedar bark.
Thanks for the additional info, which I did not know, either!

Thank you Becky. I cranked up to f 22 and positioned that tree to get some flares. I am very glad that you liked it!

Hi Ram. That's one seriously beautiful building. I'll have to add this place to the list for my next Japan trip.
I love the light in the final image. It softly touches the moss and torii gate, picking out and highlighting their
details. Get well soon!

Thanks, Ben. You will love the well-kept garden that we went to on our way down. My next post will be about that :)
