Photos From Todaiji Temple in Nara, Japan

Nara is a short train ride from Kyoto (about 30 minutes). One of the main attractions of this ancient city is the Todaiji temple ( Eastern Great Temple ). Here are some of the photos I took while spending the day in Nara.

There are lots of free roaming deer in Nara. Especially around the Buddhist temples. They are not shy and if you have food you can really make friends with them :)

Excellent photos, must be great seeing this all live ! I love #13, it's a bit surreal with the lens flare, and great dreamy light !

Thank you very much, Heike. I took like 20 photos of this deer just to capture the mist coming out of his mouth while he chews on that grass. They all seems to have a lot of patience for photographers.

Nice!  I particularly like Picture #1; you wouldn't normally expect to see a deer in front of a temple!
