PhotoBlog is the perfect social medium platform because it allows those of us who love photography to express our passion for photography in unique and endless ways.
This platform allows me to combine my love for photography and writing at the same time. I love the term enthusiastic amateur, which I am in both genres.
About five years ago, I bought my very first camera.
A Panasonic FZ-70, recommended by my neighbor.
So I bought one that very day online.
Not knowing anything about cameras except that this one had a 60X lens zoom! (impressive)
It was only later I found out what type of camera it was ...
The term used was a "Bridge Camera"
They are somewhere between a point and shoot camera, and a full DSLR.
(I would find out later about DSLR cameras)
I was so proud and excited about my new camera , couldn't wait to start using that zoom lens to photograph all the birds.
That camera for me had one purpose, to get as close to any bird possible and then capture it with my 60X zoom lens period.
There were a lot of different functions on that camera that intimated me and I opted for using the Auto setting to take pictures for a very long time.
There were birds to capture with my camera, so who had time to learn about what the camera actually could do for me.
Everything was new and exciting and there were plenty of birds to capture with my camera using my new 60X zoom lens!
Like a child getting behind the wheel of a car, photo processing was something I had no clue about, except how to manipulate the colors, shades etc.
When I was happy with the end result I exported it! (pretty simple)
I have learned a lot since those early day's but, I have so much more to learn.
And that's the fun of it, because like anything you love to do, one wants to get better and better at it.
When I say I am an enthusiastic amateur, I mean it!
In the short span of a little over five years, technology has changed and continues changing digital photography at break neck speed.
Technology is passing me by, because I am still trying to learn just the basics of digital photography and all that encompasses it.
Like a five star buffet restaurant , there are many choices one can pick from.
Digital photography is a photographers buffet ...
Color Processing, HDR, Black and White, Digital Art/Manipulation the choices are endless.
No sweat ...
I am in no rush!!
My Panasonic FZ-70, I don't have anymore because I decided to drop it off at the local town book drop we have in here in town.
Passing it forward, hoping another individual might find a passion and a discovery of new worlds that only can be found through the lens of a camera.
The photos I chose for this blog were processed using the old Google Nik Collection Color Efex
