I have heard of this place from a friend, and it was during a time where I was taking a photography class. Therefore, it made sense to check it out and snap away.
The Getty Villa is in the neighborhood of the Pacific Palisades in Los Angeles. It is close to the Malibu coast and at certain spots of the Villa, the body of water is visible.
This museum houses arts and pieces from the Greek, Roman, and Etruscan antiquities. Aside from those history pieces, just the place itself is something to admire.
The architecture of the place was mirrored from Villa Papyri at Herculaneum, and details from the other cities were also incorporated.
Honestly, I was in awe of the place more than the collection that it houses. It made me realize even more my interest with architecture photography. The details that each building possess was unbelievable.
I have seen this place and taken these photos during the first few weeks of my photography class, and I am now wanting to recreate this to see how much has changed since then. —Claire
