Do you sometimes feel the urge to go somewhere and disconnect? A place where the air is fresh, a quiet place, and far from all the typical chaos? Perhaps a spot where you can possibly forget for even a bit?
I have stumbled upon this spot when I was exploring the Oak Glen Preserve. I frequent to this area, but I have never seen this spot. There are plenty of shade to chill at. It’s a perfect place for a picnic.
Before you reach this area, you’ll have to pass by this small pond. It was quite sketchy once I reached this spot. It seems like one of those places that is ideal to murder someone. It is secluded and I have not seen anyone else while I was there.
The water of course does not appear to be that clear nor clean, but it still seems like a place to do some thinking. If you want some peace and quiet for a bit, then this is a good area. A bit more of a hike then you’ll be greeted by this meadow.
The meadow is not quite green due to the weather starting to get really hot out here in California. In addition, I don’t know how often the area gets watered.
As you leave the meadow, you’ll start seeing some tall trees again. As you get closer, you’ll see a picnic table that is situated in what seem to be the perfect spot. Honestly, it was quite scary to roam around the whole entire preserve all by myself, and it does not help seeing those warning signs for mountain lions or rattlesnakes.
Being outdoors is a breath of fresh air especially these days where we are all cooped up at home and not necessarily by choice. Just remember to keep your distance to others when out in public, and this is not only to protect ourselves but others too.—Claire
