I believe it was about 2 years ago since I found out about this Lavender Field in Cherry Valley, CA. They actually have a Lavender Festival in which you can see a variety of products made out from lavender. These products varies from food to household stuff. However, I never got the opportunity to visit until recently.

Since there are restrictions due to corona virus, the festival was actually cancelled and they only offer a walkthrough the field. Right when the festival is cancelled that is when I finally went.

Before going to the Lavender field, I have not really seen a lavender plant. The smell of lavender is very potent in the air. It was quite relaxing. I was expecting just to see a sea of lavender that is color lavender, but to my surprise there are also white and yellow lavender.

Aside from the color, I do not know exactly what is the difference between all 3. One thing that I have noticed though was that the purple lavender got stronger smell.

Seeing the contrast of colors within the field makes things look more alive. In addition, there were plenty of bees around. It was quite scary to be too close because I am not looking to be bitten by bees.

They are however friendly. This would be a good spot to do a photoshoot. I can imagine the pictures during golden hour to be having a softer light. It would be quite interesting and to have a couple pose around the field.—Claire
