I know it's late…but finally I found a vain butterfly willing to be photographed… so here is my belated offering :)

This is Aglais urticae (Small Tortoishell) a common British butterfly that is reducing rapidly in numbers.

      The range of colours is magnificent. I've seen cabbage whites this year in our garden!
