This past Tuesday I went to to see the movie, Collateral Beauty, and I must say that this movie is now my all time favorite. I was pretty stuck on the movie Hitch, which also features Will Smith as one of the main actors, but now I'm completely overwhelmed and enticed by Collateral Beauty. It really got me thinking about how people, including myself, use and value the time that we're given on this Earth to have. Time always moves forward. We may complain about not having enough time. We may deliberate, fuss, and worry about the time we've wasted, misused, or abused, but you can never go back and change any of it. To me, that is what makes time so beautiful and magical.
If you think of time as a canvas, then we're all given a fresh blank canvas the day we're born. Then as time grows experiences become the paint that we use to draw out our life. There's no eraser or deletion button you can use to make the paint on your canvas disappear, but there's always room on your canvas to add bright, vibrant colors that can change how you view your picture. You may also think to yourself at times that your picture isn't clear, and instead it's hazy and hard to decipher. Luckily, you don't have to have an exact picture in mind to start painting. Slowly but surely the lines will align to create something beautiful-- your unique story of life. "At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want." (Lao Tzu). If you truly believe in your truth and your destiny, time will physically manifest your desires and wants in life.
Just a little pick me up for those still figuring out life :)
