Day 28: Fort De Soto

by Carolina June. 01, 2017 949 views

With my parents in town for the holiday weekend, I wanted to show them a different side of St. Pete. So I decided to take them to Fort De Soto Park. This park has a fort that was built around the time of the Spanish-American war to help protect Tampa from invading forces, 1898. That is a super brief summary of all the history that is there but you get the idea. Before I bore you with tons of details, here are some of my favorite images from that day.

Detail of the mortar head, I think that's what it's called.
