Sunday December 10, 2017, we left San Diego to Burbank at 6:00a.m. on an assignment to cover (BTS-Behind the Scenes) on a netflix pilot called "AfterMath". First thing that actors do when they arrive is make sure their paperwork is signed. After the paperwork is done, they change into movie wardrobe. They get in line to see the make-up artist Stanachio, who adds their camouflage to everyone on that is acting on set.
Director Romane Simon preps the scene with a walkthrough how he wants the actors to shoot their machine guns at the enemy.
This scene you see the soldiers fighting their way out of a gully, trying to stay alive as they try and move forward in a uphill battle.
"Uuhhhh" says the soldier says as as he acts like he is hit from enemy gunfire and rolls down the hillside.
The Director gets in for a tight shot of the soldier who was hit in the neck with a bullet and bleeding out on the battlefield.
"Lester Speight" character finds himself alone, while the rest of his army battalion were killed during battle in the in a gully. Director Romane Simon gets a close up while filming the scene.
Actor Lester Speight finds himself alive and alone after his battalion is all dead underneath him on the battlefield.
At the end of the day, everyone one is tired and parched with the dry heat in the flowing in the air. After rolling in the dirt all day hot and thirsty everyone rushes to the snack table to get water, bananas, fruits and watermelon. They always find the time to have a little fun on set.
Everybody in the cast and crew come over to see the action shots and study what they could of improved on. Director Romane Simon stares into the screen with passion as the cast look right beside him on the great day at work.
