This October I got the opportunity to be a part of the historic cine fashion film festival aka Cinemoi, which was anything but a star studded night, I mean that literally. It was a night to remember.
From renowned actors and actresses all dressed up for the occasion in their best branded outfits to upcoming fashion designers , makeup artists, filmmakers and world changers were all there right in front of me.
I could see them, rhinestones and gems from their clothes reflected all shades of rainbow upon my dress as they walked on the red carpet under limelight, and flashes from the media cameras.
Anyhow, after being flabbergasted by the presence of some of my favorite Tv stars and makeup artists on the red carpet I finally got in to witness one of the biggest film and fashion awards.
I got a seat in gallery so I was able to witness the whole event without much trouble. Dramatic lights, heavily crafted stage, sparkling gowns, chitter chatter everywhere – it almost felt like one of those reality TV shows where they take you backstage and show how extra all these shows are.
Coming back to the award ceremony, it all started with hosts introducing themselves; Natasha Leggero and Lawrence Zarian and formally announcing the beginning of night. Like any other lay person who hasn’t been to an award show before, I was just waiting for the award for best actor, actress and designer icon.
I saw my favorite Patricia Field get the award for best stylist/designer for the Sex and the City – which was the highlight of my day.
The best actor award went to Jeffrey Bowyer- Chapman for Central and Broadway, while the best actress award in a short film went to Folake Olowofoyeku for the same movie.
Other awards such as award for best fashion feature film went to 1970: Sex, Fashion & Disco. While the timeless icon award went to Wyclef Jean.
After the award ceremony I was just numb, tired and happy all at the same time. I was happy because I got to experience something that was surely larger than life, and something I would have not imagined being a part of it was not due to my friends efforts who helped me get through. I felt numb because it had been a long evening. So, take a look at the videos of the evening of lifetime.
